Codex (Codex Alimentarius) is a collection of internationally recognized standards, codes of practice, guidelines, and other recommendations relating to foods, food production, and food safety. Our Angel Bay products are Halal certified by the following New Zealand MPI Approved Halal Organisations (AHO’s) - The New Zealand Islamic Development Trust (NZIDT) and the Federation of Islamic Associations of New Zealand (FIANZ).
The plant operates under a MPI (Ministry for Primary Industries) registered Risk Management Programme in accordance with the NZ Animal Product Acts 1999. The RMP covers the control and management of hazards relating to human health (HACCP), risks to wholesomeness and risks from false or misleading labelling. It operates in accordance with the pre-requisite programmes and the HACCP plan. The RMP is verified by MPI during PBV audits according to the regulatory audit schedule.
