Mushroom and Avocado Veggie Burger

Veggie burgers are only getting bigger and better! Not only is this burger a healthy option for your customers but the combination of smashed avo, red onion and a beautifully spiced portobello mushroom, this will be the burger of the summer. 

Ingredients

  • 1 x Angel Bay Gourmet Veggie Burger Patties
  • Avocado, smashed
  • Red Onion, sliced
  • Gherkins
  • Lettuce
  • Avocado Mayo
  • 1 x Burger Buns
  • Mushroom Sauce Ingredients: 
  • 1 x Portabello Mushroom
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Tbsp Tomato Puree
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 1 x Onion, diced
  • 1 Tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
  • Salt and Pepper

Serves 1

Method

  1. Cook Veggie Pattie from frozen for 14-16 minutes per side on a hot plate or frypan, or until the center temperature reaches 75°C.

  2. Thinly slice the mushroom and put into a frying pan. Combine all the mushroom ingredients (all below portobello mushrooms) and cover the mushroom in the sauce.

  3. Cook in frypan until sauce is golden. Allow to rest for a few mins.

  4. Assemble the burger and serve.
